It wasn't long before the first cat broke away to give chase. Tigerfrost, the one that left him so miserable, keeping him in his den and glaring at him as if he were no better than crowfood. Daisypaw was keenly aware of the extra set of paws pounding on the earth behind her, head snapping back with enough speed to nearly send her into a tumble.
Her heart was in her throat, then, as the large tabby sprung at Dandy, and a desperate cry tore itself from her as she twisted around to try and stop him to the best of her ability. While she was trying to barrel him out of the way, she missed, instead butting into one of his legs and hopefully sending him stumbling off course.
She was heaving for breath already, a mixture of adrenaline and lack of stamina. "Leave him alone! Leave him alone! He's not a traitor! He's not! It's your fault! All of it is your fault!" she screeched, trying to plant herself between him and the sepia tom. Her fur was stood on end, ears pinned and head lowered with her lips curled back.
