It wasn't long before the first cat broke away to give chase. Tigerfrost, the one that left him so miserable, keeping him in his den and glaring at him as if he were no better than crowfood. Daisypaw was keenly aware of the extra set of paws pounding on the earth behind her, head snapping back with enough speed to nearly send her into a tumble.

Her heart was in her throat, then, as the large tabby sprung at Dandy, and a desperate cry tore itself from her as she twisted around to try and stop him to the best of her ability. While she was trying to barrel him out of the way, she missed, instead butting into one of his legs and hopefully sending him stumbling off course.

She was heaving for breath already, a mixture of adrenaline and lack of stamina. "Leave him alone! Leave him alone! He's not a traitor! He's not! It's your fault! All of it is your fault!" she screeched, trying to plant herself between him and the sepia tom. Her fur was stood on end, ears pinned and head lowered with her lips curled back.

sootchaser does not expect retaliation from his own clanmate- when coalfoot's teeth sink into the tip of his tail, it is met with a screech of intermingling surprise and fury. blind-sided by the sudden attack from behind, coupled with a well-timed kick from dandelionwish's hind leg, the tom is quickly displaced from the fallen traitor's flank; and dandelionwish manages to escape, fleeing the clearing with crimson paw prints in his wake. but sootchaser does not have the time to bask in the wounds he inflicted upon dandelionwish. he whirls around, ripping his tail from the other warrior's grasp, to aim a hard smack across coalfoot's face with unsheathed claws. "treasonous viper!" sootchaser spits in coalfoot's direction, who dares to cry out that dandelionwish deserved to be spared. "you'd sooner turn your claws against a clanmate than the one starclan has turned their backs on?!"

his mother's shriek pierces the cold night air, seconds before another descends upon the one who dared to interfere with justice. the empress demands dandelionwish's pelt, painted in his sinful blood, and sootchaser would present it to her on a silver platter. with coalfoot out of his way, pinned by sedgerunner, sootchaser sprints after dandelionwish and daisypaw, who flees from the camp at his heels. unrelated by blood, but sharing in sin all the same. a shame... she could've made a decent windclan warrior, had she not been brainwashed by the rogue healer.

behind him, there are yowls echoing throughout the camp. a disarray of treachery which starclan will surely punish, but the soot-furred prince is hyperfixated on the sinner who runs from his inevitable demise like the coward he's always been. he would make his mother proud, he would skin that lying bastard from head to tail just as she wants. his younger siblings would sleep upon a nest lined with dandelionwish's pelt.

tigerfrost aims to sweep the sinner's hind legs from underneath him, with daisypaw trying to intervene, while sootchaser would continue to press on, attempting to use his speed to overtake dandelionwish and, if he is successful in coming up to the other's side, aims to ram himself hard into the rogue healer's bleeding flank in order to upset his balance. "you can run, but sinners never prosper," hisses the young warrior in tandem with tigerfrost's fanged growls. "starclan will punish you for an eternity!"

"YOU'RE NOT A PART TIME GOD"
His eyes are blazing, nostrils flaring as he snarls down at Dandelionwish’s struggling shape, claws digging into his arm and paw, waiting for commands to do as he was instructed. Blood didn’t have to be shed, but the moment claws gripped his neck and teeth snapped at his heels did Houndthistle stop caring about listening to orders. Momentarily loosening his grip on Dandelionwish, Houndthistle’s eyes blazed with anger. A kick was aimed at whoever was closest to behind him and attacking them, claws unsheathed to leave damage before he tucked his chin, large powerful jaws aiming to snap around Jasperglare’s leg and crush whichever limb he could grasp before rearing back on his hindlegs and hoping to toss the other away from him.

Vitriol dripped from his jaws, foaming at the edges of his lips as he huffed, feeling the sting and burn of his old wounds flare to life but adrenaline pumped heavy in his veins, blurring those lines of pain and excitement. Watching Tigerfrost’s shape disappear after Dandelionwish did Houndthistle haul after the pair, thundering paws of fury pounding the slushy ground underneath as he stormed like a beast after the pair, leaving the others to fight the battle within camp. His target was fleeing, the others he’d get a chance at when he returned.

So close, so close. And yet...

The smaller figure he had deemed unworthy of his time crashes into Tigerfrost's leg. He hadn't expected it, of course. Hadn't known the apprentice would be so daring. Nonetheless, the surprise is enough to stagger him. He wobbles, his thunderous sprint falters, his legs tangle, and he falls roughly to the cold ground.

Crunch.

The sound is sickening, but as adrenaline pours through his veins, Tigerfrost is entirely unaware of just what injury he had suffered from. He snarls at the apprentice, hastily recovering his footing as Sootchaser streaks past. His right front paw buckles, though the pain of it still felt so very distant from his mind. Lifting the limb, the chimera now stands upon his three uninjured legs and stares Daisypaw down with eyes that blister like hell-fire.

A traitor was a traitor, no matter how young.

A roar tears from his maw as he lunges, back paws propelling him forward. Tigerfrost's teeth snap as he aims to latch them into Daisypaw's throat, where he would then attempt to twist to the side, and slam her against the cold ground. She could choke there, for all he cared. How dare she get in the way! The audacity!

((intercepted by @daisypaw ! and now attempting retaliation. ))

"THEY SAY THAT IM RECKLESS BECAUSE I'M RELENTLESS"

It seemed that, no matter what they did or how hard they tried, chaos always boiled and bubbled until it cascaded over the edge and drowned the moorland clan. Everything had seemed so calm since the night of the raid. For once it felt as though they had made it entire moon without infighting. Almost, that is...

He should have known it was only a matter of time. Should have known that the catalyst that broke that growing tension would involve the former medicine cat. Really, Jaggedoak expected it to happen when his exile was officially implemented. What he didn't expect was Dandelionwish attempting escape. He woke with a start to the sound of yowls and the scent of battle in the air. Of blood, and sweat and fear. Jolting upwards at the cry to arms.

Like many of his clanmates, he believes them under attack by an enemy clan, claws digging into the fresh snow and hard soil underneath. But the commotion is quick to whisk away that fear when he suddenly realizes the voices on both sides are that of his clanmates. The brown tabby is frozen off to the side, shaking away his drowsiness as he sees more and more bodies jump in the fray. Everyone was shouting over each other and through it all, the tom is able to to gleam a patch of chocolate fur underneath all the moving parts. Squirming and clawing, desperate to get out and away from the pack of rabid loyalists.

The realization suddenly hits him like a brick wall as he recognized Dandelionwish underneath the mess. His fogged brain clicked together what Tigerfrost's had said that jostled him awake, the words finding purchase in his mind. Dandelionwish... They're gonna kill him... He had never been close to the medicine cat but once again his heart tightened like it had when Yew and Gale had been forced out. They had been here from the beginning, had tried their best when Honeytwist was pushed aside. He couldn't just let him die here. Let his blood spill all over the camp where they slept. Where everyone could see.

Sootstar's call for blood and death is what snaps him into action. He sees Dandelionwish squeeze out from underneath it all and his paws move before he could stop them. He just needed to give him a bit of time. Needed to delay the loyalist just a bit. The tom was long legged enough that Jaggedoak knew he might be able to outpace them. So with a loud snarl, the brown tabby jolted towards the fray. He moved to pounce at the former medicine cat, claws unsheathed. However, there was a slight hesitation, the smallest of milliseconds where he waited in his crouch to long. Instead of bowling over the smaller tom, Jaggedoak's claws would most likely find purchase in whoever was giving chase...

Whether his attempt at slowing down Dandelionwish's pursuers worked, the way he threw his entire weight into the pounce had the tom tumbling off to the side (hopefully dragging one of the three with him) in a mess of body parts. Twisting onto his belly, the large tabby snarled in the direction of the camp entrance, attempting to drip venom into his words. ❝ TRAITOROUS RABBIT!!! YOU WON'T ESCAPE!! If he had been successful in trapping another with him, Jaggedoak would move to stand up in a way that would trip both of them up again. If his attempt had been fruitless, he would start to move to give chase himself...

(((OOC: Attempting to bowl over and trip up one of any of the pursuers sooooo @HOUNDTHISTLE @SOOTCHASER @TIGERFROST your choice!! )))

His blood lit on fire. Adrenaline coursed through his veins. It felt so good.... This rush. Searing pain struck him as Houndthistle flung him to the ground to give chase after Dandy. Is that so?

Running from him, was he? Oh no no no, he couldn't have that.

His leg might be broken, he wasn't sure. But the pain only lit his blood up further. He too was a bloodthirsty beast, but only in battle this was likely his last day alive, and he would make it count.

He was the thorn in your side, the headache that never faded quick enough.

With a yowl of pain and fury, he gave chase after Houndthistle.

The idea that he would die set him free. After all, a man with nothing to lose is a man to be feared.

A new idea struck him. Strafe around and catch up to Dandy and cut them all off. Yes. Plus, Daisypaw was in this chase now and he didn't want to see her ripped up either.

Pushing himself and going mad from pain he increased his speed. He was built for it. Long legs and a long tail and what remained of his muscles carried him across the moors like a cheetah.

He kept his distance as he planned and began closing in on Tigerfrost, who was about to have Daisypaw as a snack.

"All this talk about vipers and yet you lot WOULDN'T KNOW ONE IF IT BIT YOU IN THE ASS!!" He shouted, cackling madly afterwards.

With the momentum backing him up, he aimed to send himself crashing into the side other.

@TIGERFROST

A flash of black and white catches the corner of his mismatched eyes and he falters as his assailant suddenly dips down and tumbles into the ground. This would be the moment he could escape but he falters, swears sharply and pivots around to throw himself into Tigerfrost's side with hopefully enough force to get him off the apprentice and thrust his foreleg forward to block the teeth that would otherwise have clamped around her tiny neck.
In the same swift movement he was dipping his head, scruffing her to haul up onto her feed and shove ahead of him,
"GO!" His speech slurred, he wondered why the world was suddenly so bright and vibrant on the edge of leaf-bare melting. He shakes his head, whips blood around onto the ground and blinks back his daze as he keeps moving; shoving Daisypaw along in front of him and ripping his leg away from the tabby with a series of frantic swats from his free limb.
He was wishing for all the world that cats listened when he begged and pleaded with them to do things-neither of them might make it out now, he wondered if she realized she might've condemned them both by not staying back. Dandelionwish clenches his jaw so tight he swears he feels something crack, a russet blur of fur comes behind them to distract the brown tabby and he doesn't waste the precious seconds it gives.
With the black and white apprentice and now a mangled leg to his name that he had no choice but to put pressure on, he steered them forward alongside the gorge to where ahead the pathway to fourtrees and its sacred land was a sanctuary that could possibly turn the tides. Sootstar's soldiers, loyal as they were, wouldn't dare spill blood on this place where the great battle once raged and multiple cats died.

There was chaos behind him, he couldn't even tell at a distance what clanmates were screaming for his blood and which were fighting to defend, he saw several faces tangled with one another; cats screeching loud enough for the stars to hear and he flattened his ears to it. It didn't matter if he reached the place where no clan laid claim, they'd keep running, they'd keep moving and hopefully in the madness of the clan shredding itself to pieces they might lose them all in the shrouded trees beneath the mask of night.

Not even a response. No, the tabby stared down at her with furious eyes and immediately went in with jaws parted and teeth glinting, Daisypaw flinching back with a cry just as a chocolate paw intercepted it harshly, a different set of teeth grabbing her scruff harshly and dragging her up with a harsh shove. Go! She had to go!

With teary eyes, hesitating for only a moment as he ripped his paw from Tigerfrost's jaws and sent even more crimson spattering the ground, she was shoved again and the two were off. She couldn't look back, she couldn't stop to ask if he was okay. He wasn't okay, it had to hurt, and a whine drew itself from her throat to think that he had tried to bite her like that.

Doing her best to maintain pace as fast as she could, she continued in the direction of the RiverClan border, to the place where she had been assured she would be safe. Where Dandelionwish would be safe.

Skyward sprawled the thorns of madness, tendrils grasping bodies and drawing blood, poking thorns into flesh. They bled into the ground, seeping into the dirt and bones below- their sanity, like ichor from a split. Who were they to know- and who had he been to warn them, when they had first moved here? Immunity had shone upon the minds of his family, but every one of these migrants... they were susceptible to the deadly nightshade of sanity-slippage. In immunity came ignorance- he had not been aware of this maddening miasma. More and more and more fell- day by day.

Another consequence witnessed, and that was life- they spoke of stars and traitors, all while Dandelionwish bolted off, his escape crowded by clowdering clamour, the sickness noxious as they all spouted and argued. Inky paws locked themselves to the earth as a hulking white body heaved with the beginning-throes of laughter, that shuddering of shoulders. Giggling, giggling- for away he went, away and away, sailing into the distance while others fought to join him. Be careful he'd said, or something like it, but this wasn't careful! Hypocrisy pulsed from Dandelionwish in time with his pawsteps, and Mallowlark's cackles rose in volume, the noise scraping against the walls of his throat and splitting from between his eye-teeth fangs.

Shouting laughter- raucous laughter as more of them spilled out. There went Daisypaw. It mattered not whether he thought them dead or alive, because they were just as dead to him anyways. They'd show up in his life no more often than a corpse, whether slain or fled. Dandelionwish, a friend- though it made no difference, he willed his escape within the ferocity of his laughter, in the ache of his grin. You've not gone mad yet, he thought, eyes owlish and watchful. Twin moons burned with unblinking, his lungs smouldering with the pain of laughter. Get out, get out, and do it quickly.

He'd never be this lucky if he were to escape. If. His grin felt as if it might burst right out through his cheeks.

His teeth latch into something else entirely as something crashes into his figure. Not the throat of the young apprentice, but the forelimb of Dandelionwish, whom it seemed Sootchaser had failed to bring down. In the same moment, another figure is slamming into the chimera's side, and a flash of fur and scent confirms the presence to be that of Jasperglare. It seemed that, for now, Daisypaw was safe to flee, provided she could escape the other loyalists nearby.

Tigerfrost spits fur and blood from his maw as he hits the ground and twists onto his back, aiming to burrow his teeth into Jasperglare's shoulder as two powerful hind-legs kick up and aim to rake deeply across any flesh they could reach. So many traitors, and Tigerfrost can't help but wonder if they outnumbered the loyalists in the chaos.

"BUT I STILL HAVEN'T FOUND WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR"
Monochrome fur is found beneath her paws as her attack lands near perfectly. She feels his body near crumble beneath her slender frame, a jolt sending her own body a little off-kilter. A prickling anticipation wedges itself into her brain, a lone thought escaping in the whirring mass of her mind. What now? Her sparring sessions with Houndthistle comes into play, remembering his moves and integrating it into her own. Coalfoot was much smaller than the lumbering brown tom, closer to her size. His strength would have a harder time overcoming her, but his speed? His speed was near on par with her own. She had to move quickly. A wailing shriek pierces her ears, nearly jolting her away as Sootstar's claws graze past Coalfoot in one fell swoop, razor tips connecting just enough for a blow before Coldsnap hurls himself at the Queen herself.
Her eyes grow wide as she opens her mouth to shout for Sootstar to move, but Coalfoot is already at work at wriggling beneath her. The moor runner is unfortunately not heavy enough to keep him at bay as he twists widky beneath her like a hare trapped under her own claws. A foot is hurled, taking her own forepaw with it. The chocolate molly grits her teeth as she stumbles and her opponent is set free. Dammit! Their eyes interlock and for a moment, her eyes soften in sympathy. I'm sorry. I have to do this. Elongated ears flatten against the slope of her cranium as her expression hardened again. She had to fight for her own survival. She had to fight for WindClan. Lean muscle rippled beneath her short fur as she launched herself towards the tom again, steering herself abruptly to the right as she pivoted on her toes like in the many rabbit chases she's endured. Outstretched claws aim to rake down his flank before springing back towards him again in an attempt to snap her jaws onto whatever she could, whether it be his shoulder or a leg. She had to keep him from escaping like the others, had to keep him at bay. Prove yourself. Prove yourself. You are loyal. Are you proud of me, Gorgefall? Are you proud of what I'm becoming now?

windclan is thrown into disorder in mere seconds.

"dandelionwish!"

"dandelionwish is trying to flee!"

a blurred bellowing of alarms sends shrewtuft plummeting back into the waking world, eyes ripping open only to be welcomed with the distressing scene of stampeding clanmates rushing by to chase after a blurred figure which she can only assume was her brother. oh no. the warrior scrambles quickly to get up on all fours, too much is happening around her and her focus is darting around from one scrap to another. she's barely able to catch sight of thymeroot throwing himself into the fray to knock away one of dandelion's many pursuer's before the queen's chilling shriek echos throughout camp.

"DEATH TO DANDELIONWISH, VIPER OF WINDCLAN!"

the bell tolls and now death has sent her hounds after their prey. windclan is going to eat itself alive all while under the scruntinizing eyes of starclan. bile is burning the back of her throat, shrewtuft was foolish in thinking things would eventually fix itself but the first domino in the chain had been pushed over long ago and is only now catching up to them. what was she to do? her heart screams to flee and stick by her family but by doing so would mean she's offering herself to the waiting guillotine that hungers for traitorous blood.

she doesn't want to die.

the sepia is shaken from her frozen stupor when somebody barrels passed, body stumbling forwards trying to catch itself from fully being knocked over and her head shoots up just in time to see tigerfrost ripping away from thymeroot who's face has been marred by teeth and it finally kicks movement into umber socked limbs. "thymeroot!!" his name tears from her throat in the form of a distraught cry, body pushing against the surge of many others in a desperate attempt to reach him.

her family has been slipping from her grasp. she's going to lose them. she's going to end up alone in a place that wants to put their heads on display for all to see.

she's scared.

the sinners have crawled from the shadows tonight, it seems, as tigerfrost falls to daisypaw and jasperglare. dandelionwish manages to outmaneuver sootchaser, and with a hiss, he whirls around as quickly as he can at full speed and barrels back towards the three. the rogue healer scruffs daisypaw and hauls her from tigerfrost's claws, pushing the little apprentice towards the sanctuary of fourtrees.

sootchaser knows he cannot cross that boundary, recalling the rage from his mother when weaselclaw had ignored the sacred borders. with a frustrated hiss, he instead turns his fury onto jasperglare, who has revealed his own true colors now. the windclan warrior aims to fake the older tom out with a feigned blow to the other's face with his forepaw, only to spin around at the last second and kick out with both hind legs, bearing his weight on his upper limbs. "bastard!" he snarls, following his previous move- whether successful or not- with a rapid succession of quick, sharp slices aimed at whatever he could, hoping that he feels flesh part beneath his claws. "you should've been left to rot moons ago with that pathetic fool you called a leader!" because of these traitors, dandelionwish and daisypaw have managed to escape. how many more hide within windclan's ranks? will they ever manage to flush the vermin out, or has the infestation grown out of control?

it was supposed to be simple; as easy as catching a beetle one cat against a clan that's all it should've been and she can taste victory and praise when she meets her mark and Dandelionwish tumbles to the ground beneath her weight. She struggles to hold onto him and she's glad to see Sootchaser and Houndthistle swarming him to keep him pinned. After all she'd just narrowly gotten the pounce off, she tries to crawl closer to him to tighten her grip but she's thrown of course a head ramming into her and soon the scene devolves into chaos, clanmate turning on traitor. Sootstar was right, he was an infectious weed and he'd spent to much time here enough to poison the minds of far too many. How could she ever have doubted her prophecy even for a second, her only mistake wasn't killing him to begin with. A furious yowl roars from her lungs as the world around her becomes a red blur, her hateful gaze turns to Coalfoot from where she'd rolled grip lost furth allowing for Dandeliowish to get free, she can narrowly see his escaping form pelting ahead of the pack running from the damnation Sootstar orders. That raid was for him, it was for the other red furred tom who comes barreling into the fray as well, they'd almost died succumb to the same plight that'd dragged Wisterapaw into the star filled sky. She wishes it was them instead, these traitors hadn't deserved their blessings to survive any more moons. ❝We shoulda' let ya die then you traitorous foxhearts! And saved ourselves the trouble of endin' ya now!❞ She rolls to her paws about to join the fight that so many of her clanmates were tangled in the cowardly Sedgerunner apart of the chaos going after the pelt of Coalfoot making her loyalties finally clear but it's not something she can ponder on for long. The two toms well they wouldn't be the last of the traitors to reveal themselves on this fateful night.

Coldsnap comes running right at the heavily pregnant Sootstar and her eyes become slits, the idea of attacking any pregnant molly felt traitorous to every core value and morality she knew even in the worst circumstances she'd avoid doing such a thing but he was coming at her with dangerous gusto. There were others to chase Dandelionwish, Sootstar just had her runt of a brother protecting her and he wouldn't last against the warrior if his attention shifted to him. She doesn't sit and consider things not even as Thymeroot come crashing in to help Dandeliowish furthermore. In the whirl of thrashing limbs she quickly sees a spot she can strike and goes running for it a yowl roaring out of her ❝Let go of her!❞

She doesn't aim to continue the fight, no she'd want it ended as quick as possible and remembering her loss to Silverpaw made her know exactly what to do. She'd attempt to snap her jaws around @Coldsnap 's throat in a vicegrip If she was successful she'd crunch down as deep as she could The only difference between her and her kittypet opponent was she wouldn't let go not without his neck severing with her clamped jaws if he wasn't careful.

Should have let him die then. Many had. He himself likely almost did. Medicine aside, they had been stuck there, trapped for days without provisions by the blizzard. He would never know if they had even attempted to reach the badger set. He wasn't sure if he wanted to. The raid had brought them nothing but death and injury, for the sake of a single mouthful of catmint. He was no medicine cat, but he knew it to be a foolish act. He would never have asked them to go, even if it meant his own death.

His escape attempt proved successful, dislodging Sedgerunner and leaping back to his paws. It was a temporary standoff, his gaze flickering over to check on Coldsnap for only a moment before he resumed focusing on his current fight. Things were getting worse, but he trusted him. He had to.

Sedgerunner sprang. Claws flashed, but he was only just faster, backpedaling away from her reach in time to avoid the brutal blow, only for her to quickly double in with a snap of her teeth. He wasn't quite so lucky then, teeth sinking into his shoulder just as he yanked it away with his own jaw clenched. Smokepaw had gone for Coldsnap now. Stare snapping back to the lithe warrior, he kicked out at her chest as harshly as he could to shove her away, only to twist around and make a run for the dark tabby.

Firepaw was bolting for him as well. "Coldsnap!" he cried. With paws pounding on the earth, Coalfoot made a leap fore Firepaw, hoping to intercept her in time and knock her to the ground. Regardless of success, he will attempt to sink his fangs into the back of her neck. He wouldn't kill her. He wouldn't stoop to something so cruel, but he couldn't let her kill Coldsnap. Not if he could help it.

Rearing his head up, but doing his best to keep the apprentice down, he stared at the tabby with wide eyes. "Coldsnap, we have to go!" Go. Oh- it was dawning on him in that moment, that this was no longer his home. If he stayed, he would be slaughtered just as they tried to bring down Dandelionwish. He was a traitor in their eyes, nothing short of scum. They had to go.

"YOU'RE NOT A PART TIME GOD"
He was so focused, feeling warmth blossoming on his neck and sides, wind buffeting his spiky pelt as he kept those glaring amber eyes forward, large paws swallowing the ground as he thundered like a mad beast after Dandelionwish's form. To his left, Tigerfrost went down, his right went Sootchaser ducking back to help the chimera, but Houndthistle was deadset on tearing his teeth into flesh, the draw of battle like a siren's song that brought him back to older times. His breaths were huffs, his senses overwhelmed with nothing but the scent of the traitorous medicine cat as the other weaved, desperate to get away from the baying of the chaos that followed him. He was so close when a force crashed into his side, bowling the large tom down into a flurry of snapping teeth and deadly claws.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. It was something his father had drilled into his head day in and day out, leaving Houndthistle bloodied and broken after every training session when he was younger, barely the age of weaning when he'd known the sting of claws and the burn of teeth in his flesh, when he'd danced with the warmth that was his own blood, and when he finally became the bigger of the pair, Houndthistle used his size to his advantage and made sure to know how much of a weakness it truly was. But that was planned fighting, not this chaos-fueled bloodbath he'd entered, so when Jaggedoak's shape crashed into him, Houndthistle's wild eyes were turned violently to the tabby, teeth drawing back before he aimed a solid slamming kick to the other's legs, hoping to shove him far away from the chase itself. He didn't have time to think, all he knew was he needed to get Dandelionwish, but by the time he'd dragged himself to his paws again, the chocolate point was disappearing toward Four Trees.

"Fucking bastard!" He cursed, spitting and slashing mud before he turned those angry eyes toward the traitors he did have in sight. Coalfoot cried for Coldsnap way back, but closer was Jasperglare, the tom being swarmed by Sootchaser and Tigerfrost before the large burly tom could think to join. His eyes lit with frustration and he bound over within a few leaps to where those three tussled. Whether Sootchaser's attack landed or not, Houndthistle would be upon the traitor and would aim to grab Jasperglare by his midsection as best he could and hope to rip the other from Tigerfrost, large teeth and frustration clearly doing devastating damage if successful.

Claws raked his belly and fangs bit into his shoulder and yet he was having the time of his life. While Tigerfrost was latched onto his shoulder, he would seek to sink his teeth onto Tigerfrost's face.

An injured leg and now his belly was all slashed up. But he didn't despair, if he died, he won. He would be free.

Sootchaser kicked him with enough force to knock him off of Tigerfrost. He turned to face Sootstar's son.

"OH SHUT YOUR TRAP YOU WEAK MINDED LOON." He shouted back at him, lunging forward to go for his eyes.

But! His attack never connected. Houndthistle was back, and he seemed intent on gutting him with the way his jaws clamped down on his stomach. Pain flooded his senses. But he wasn't done yet.

He curled around houndthistle's face to aim to latch onto his ear, and to rake at his face with his hind legs.

His body was screaming in agony. If he didn't die here, he would bleed out for sure. His biggest concern for now was trying to free himself from Houndthistle's jaws.

He would prefer not to have his guts everywhere AT LEAST.

Things escalate quickly, and Gravelpaw is right on the heels of a dark brown warrior when they see the chaos that’s unfolding between what seems like every single WindClanner in the camp. For a moment, they don’t react. Can’t react. Voices filter in and out of their ears, not quite forming words but reminding them that there is hell around them. And Gravelpaw stands in the center of it for a moment, watching Firepaw and Smokepaw facing off against Coldsnap, Sootstar jumping into the fray despite her assumed fragility, Jasperglare and Daisypaw and Jaggedoak turning sides and attacking or impeding their own.

This is just like the battle at the border with SkyClan, chaos and shouting and blood being spilled across the earth. Yet this is—different. These aren’t strangers whom Gravelpaw can blur the faces of, pretend they don’t care about. These traitorous snakes are clanmates. Or, at least, they were before they chose their side. Rebellion doesn’t suit them, especially if it’s in defense of that rat-scrap Dandelionwish.

A flash of tan catches their eye, a cat swiping at Tigerfrost as the tom barrels past, and Gravelpaw is pressed viciously back into their body. They’re on the move before they register what they’re doing, planting themself before @THYMEROOT in a flash. "You," they snap, glaring at the light-colored warrior. He’s larger than them, clearly more dangerous, their black-patched pelt offering no extra size or defense against claws and teeth. This isn’t the same as that weakling SkyClan apprentice they’d faced off against before. This is a fully-trained warrior, capable of killing them without breaking a sweat.

They don’t give themself a chance to panic, to freak out and forget all they know about fighting; they swipe at Thymeroot’s face hoping to catch some soft, sensitive area and make him bleed. Make him suffer. Make him remember what he’s sacrificing for a brother who’s worth nothing. A brother who is attempting to leave him behind, at the mercy of warriors who may as well be wolves for how furious they are.

They, for a second, entertain the idea that Slatepaw would ever turn his back on WindClan—on Gravelpaw. And it doesn’t take much more thinking to decide that they aren’t a fool. Aren’t an idiot with a death wish. Aren’t worthless pond scum who would turn their back on their clanmates for something as useless as a blood connection. They would kill and die for their brother, would give anything to protect him from harm. But if Slatepaw turned his back on WindClan, and by extension Gravelpaw themself, they would not hesitate to kill him—they might even request the right to do it themself. But they needn’t consider it, because Slatepaw is their brother and he loves them just as much as they love him, and Slatepaw would never abandon Gravelpaw. Not ever.

The thorns on her paws rip through skin, but not as deep as she would've liked. A hiss of frustration seeps out of her mouth, but at least Sedgerunner had Coalfoot... At least she was proving not to be treacherous vermin! There is no time for praise, a new enemey enters the fray and takes the leader head on. The air parts from her lungs when a blunt force slams right into her, gasping for air she tumbles- potentially knocking into another nearby cat but she quickly regains balance.

Her attackers' teeth rip into her fur, it is when she feels herself stabbed by his canines, she knows who is attacking her. Coldsnap.

Sootstar lets out an uncat-like howl, "I will KILL YOU! I will kill you like I should've killed your traitor mentor!" By now both Firepaw and her apprentice, Smokepaw have joined in on attacking Coldsnap. She is grateful for their defense, what great warriors they will be! While they attack so does Sootstar, she aims to lunge forward with her face and tries to bite visciously into Coldsnap's face.

IM SCARED TO GET CLOSE AND I HATE BEING ALONE
I LONG FOR THE FEELING TO NOT FEEL AT ALL
THE HIGHER I GET, THE LOWER I SINK
I CAN'T DROWN MY DEMONS, THEY KNOW HOW TO SWIM

He doesn't know if it's working, if the sound of their queen coming under fire has frawn any of them away from the two cats he desperately wants to protect, but he doesn't stop. He feels the satisfying connection of his body slamming into Sootstars and when his fangs and claws find purchase in her flesh he digs in and shreds whatever he can reach. He's bigger than her despite their age difference, and it's here that he can tell he truly isn't like the Windclanners. Small and lithe they are, but Coldsnap? He's marsh cat, through and through; tall, broad shouldered, thick furred and large pawed. He's built for stability and strength, for brutality, and while he's let himself become more docile with these cats as of late, he hasn't forgotten.

The feeling of claws and teeth only serve to bring him to life farther as he and Soot tumble to the ground and others join in. He can feel claws sink into his back, trying to drag him away and ultimately failing- Smokepaws efforts are valiant, but Coldsnap is a big tom and he's fuming, overrun with the instinct to fight for and protect the few things he has left to cherish in this world. And so he clamps down his teeth as hard as he can on whatever partof Sootstar he's managed to grab, her words only making him seeth farther as she brought up Hyacinth. He didn't know if the shecat would be proud of him or disapointed in all honesty, wasn't sure if he'd broken his promise to her entirely yet or not. He knew she'd wanted him to stay, to keep himself out of trouble, but all things had to come to a head eventually.

As her fangs puncture the side of his face he growls in a mixture of pain and fury, but he doesn't withdraw immediately, forces his fangs to stay lodged so he can make sure she's still where he wants as he lifts a large paw up to try and rake his claws down the side of her face viciously, wanting to take an eye or leave her face as ugly as she is on the inside. He tries to hold his position above her, tries to press her into the ground with his weight as he claws at her to try and limit her movements, but it's not just her he has to worry about now.

Firepaws words crash into him a mere breath before she herself does, but Coalfoots interference keeps her mark from hitting true and instead of the death bite she wants, she ends up with a mouthful of thick fur and skin on the side of his neck. It still hurts, her grip relentless as fangs sink deep into him and blood begins to dribble down the side of his throat, and he knows Coalfoot is right. As much as that angry, self-destructive part of him wants to stay and fight until he's torn asunder, he has to try and get out of here. They'd kill Coalfoot when they were done with him, and Dandelion and Daisy were out there somewhere running from their own prusuers.

He couldn't stay.

In that moment he's glad he's not built like them, that his form is tall and broad and thick with muscle instead of light and willowy and built for tunnels and racing across fields., because it's only in gathering that strength that he's able to rip himself backwards and out of the grip of the two shecats- and maybe he has Smokepaw to thank for some of that, the other tom still yanking and pulling at him. So he wrenches himself backwards with a pained yowl and feels his flesh give way; face and neck soaked in blood as Sootstars teeth gauge a deep path through his face and Firepaws fangs tear out a chunk of flesh and fur. The pain leaves black spots in his vision but he's no stranger to the feeling, and he quickly focuses past it to Coalfoot.

"RUN!" he all but bellows at the other, because Coldsnap won't if Coalfoot isn't already two feet in front of him bolting for the exit. He instead roughly shakes himself free of Smokepaws grip, back stinging from clawmarks, and runs for Coalfoot, aiming to yank him away from Firepaw so they can make a break for the exit together.

OOC- attacking @SOOTSTAR , attempting to escape from @Firepaw and @SMOKEPAW with @coalfoot

- Semi-deep gauges on the side of his face where he yanked himself free from Sootstars bite
- A chunk of missing fur/flash from the side of his neck thats bleeding pretty bad from yanking free from Firepaw
- Numerous clawmarks down his back from Smokepaw trying to pull him off Soot
