He sneered, bloodied lips curling at the sight bringing a none-too-subtle spark of anger across handsome features, surging onto paws at the queen's call to flee. He should have listened, but he supposed his ego wouldn't let him without clawing someone, even at a disadvantage. Much like his namesake, Fogbound was stuck in a haze, pain pulsating from his eye, cursing his damn morals for a clan he shouldn't care about, but did.

He blamed Rabbitclaw for that.

The smokey warrior grumbled, letting a ruby optic scan the sandy hollow in search of his kin, deeming them a suitable length away from the invading rogues when he spoke, low and guttural, dripping like acid. "Came back for more? I'd love for round two." He grinned devilishly, helm raised, tilted just right to peer down at the mesh of parasites.

It was then that one would think Fogbound would have fled with the others, unable to see most of his left side, but even that didn't stop the hulking Maine Coon from springing forward.

/ at sandy hollow ! feel free to stop him before he gets into a full-blown fight ^^

And so the rogues were there, again. A repeat of what had happened back in WindClan, no doubt, Violetheart thought to himself as he watched the fleabitten creatures crowd into the sandy hollow - he didn't want to imagine what the ThunderClan camp was going through. Baring his teeth and growling, Violetheart dodged one of the incoming rogues, not staying around to watch as the enemy faceplanted into the loose ground behind him. There were more important matters to attend to instead of fighting, and as Violetheart caught sight of Fogbound, he decided that this was one instance of that.
"Fogbound, you're in no shape for 'round two'." The chocolate tom warned as he arrived at his Clanmate's side, keeping pace with the older tom. "None of us want to give in. But a strength is knowing when to fall back." Violetheart could only hope that Fogbound would listen to reason. The other tom was far too injured to do any good but get himself into a worse jam than he was.

Marigoldpaw still had no real opinion on WindClan, despite them taking refuge in a part of ThunderClan territory. Only those who needed help were actually in their camp, and they seemed fine enough. Maybe when the day comes where he has to face Sootstar his will opinion change.

And unfortunately, that day might be today, as rogues start coming in droves to take claim of the land. Were it not for proof that fighting them is ultimately pointless, he would immediately be digging his claws into one of their faces right now. However, he's not beneath leaving his mark before he makes his escape.

He's quick to spot his mentor clashing with one of the rogues, and as Roeflame suggests, he joins Oakfang's side. He could have left with the other apprentices, probably should have. But even with his qualms, he couldn't in good conscience flee without making sure his mentor makes it out too.

Quick as lightning, Marigoldpaw springs onto the rogue's back, biting one of his ears. He tugs it back with as much force as he can muster, leaving the black tom yelping in surprise. Before the rogue can swipe in an attempt to smack the yellow apprentice away, he jumps back down to the ground.

"It's time to go!" He yells to Oakfang, bolting away as swiftly as the words come out of his mouth. He weaves his way through the crowd, successfully making his retreat.

No... No... Just when things couldn't possibly get worse!

Snakehiss folded his ears at the sight of rogues spilling in from all sides of the Sandy Hollow. They chased and pounced upon the WindClanners like they were merely rabbits in a tunnel; the prey instead of the predator. What were they going to do now? Where were they going to—

The thin-legged tom cat yelped as he was bowled onto the ground and pinned by a scruffy, mad-eyed, dagger-clawed rogue. Their yellow eyes bore straight down at him, and the moor runner panted quickly as he tried to squirm out from underneath them. "Get... off me!" Snakehiss grunted. "Nyehehehe! How pathetic!" They cackled evilly, obviously taking pleasure in the sight of the frightened clan cat.

Either Snakehiss managed to loosen their grip or they let him go out of mercy, but either way, he high-tailed his way after the fleeing WindClanners. Wherever they were going, they were getting far away from this place. "Run, run, little kitty!"

she has only just filed in from a patrol — nothing hanging from her jaw but the drool of hunger beading at her lip. there was nothing out there, nothing. freckleflame swore up and down, swore to the stars and back that she could hear a mouse rustling in the grass from three whole foxlengths away.. there were simply no mice to be had. when she'd entered camp, she'd done so silently, frown lines sinking deep into the dark patches of her face. then, they'd come. before she could settle, before she could find a clan mate to settle down with and share a stringy bit of prey from the aging pile. sticks break, twigs and twine tear. undergrowth erupts and there they are, some stinking of the moors and some stinking of fish. some stink of something else altogether.

she freezes.

this isn't happening, she tells herself, watching as rogues spill into the clearing, claws unsheathed and eyes hard with malice. this isn't happening, she thinks, as her paws take a single step backwards upon their steady advance. pelts spike, spines arch and claws lengthen from tired paws. this was a dream, surely, nothing more than a bright nightmare ; a flash of ginger and he sees his father hobble from the nursery, sunshinekit dangling from his jaws. her limbs feel too heavy, too solid to move. her breath comes quick. this is not like practice, this was not like training. and yet — seaglass eyes fly wide and she searches for wolfwind. wolfwind would know what to do. the lump in her throat keeps her from calling our, but her maw parts, even as cats attack. fur flies, and her head pivots, despite how her gaze always pries back towards the growing violence before her.

where was mousenose? sunfreckle moves, and her brother — her brother is shoved to the ground and she releases a painful sound from the very back of her throat, at last using the momentum of her shock to propel her equally sizable form towards the flock of rogues forming a half - circle at his front. hoping they don't see him coming, she launches clumsily off of her back paws ( nerves, nerves, she curses herself at the barest slip of an ankle ) and onto one of the rogues backs, hopefully distracting them from their focus on her brother, " sparky, there's too many of 'em — ! " there is a cry to her voice, a choking weep on a scream. they would tear him apart, and if he would not leave, she would have to watch. he would not go down fighting these beasts. as well as he'd done so far, he would grow sluggish, and there were only more flooding through their leafy barriers as they struggle. the rogue beneath her kicks and claws catch her on the underside of her jaw, slicing upwards towards her bottom lip and blood wells hot, fast. she yelps, fumbles, extending her claws to push into the she - cats chest — but a well - timed kick sends her to the side with a gust of air and a bleeding belly, dark fur seeping thick with red, " we gotta go, we gotta go, we — we gotta find mousenose 'n go! "

Sparkwing rushing to help warms him, he nudges Sunshinekit and Pigeonkit along behind Leopardtongue with a grateful look and the WindClan queens and kits with them would hopefully not be too far behind but his son as helpful as he was - could only handle so much. Thankfully Freckleflame was also there, most of his kits accounted for in the chaos and he found himself aimlessly glancing about to see if he spotted anymore before refocusing on his task; they would be fine. They were ThunderClan born after all.

Sunfreckle turned back to check on the escaping queens, realized too late that he had looked away from the forefront of the battling and a rogue slammed into his chest with claws out and sticking forward. The red tabby remained standing, paws skidding back and shoulders raising as he struggled to remain upright as another jumped onto his side. With a yowl that was more thunderous sound than cat noise he turned his head to grip the scruff off the one clawing his flank to wrench them loose and fling them forward onto the ground but just as quickly another replaced them. He grit his teeth, kept upright despite the sudden weight as yet another rogue latched onto his other side; if he buckled right now he'd be buried and torn to shreds - his chest burned where claws had ripped through white fur.
Unlike his fellow leads, Sunfreckle was never really a fighter, didn't have the tenacity for it usually, didn't have the skill built from being born wild and struggling to survive; all he really had was his size and will and it was a testament to both that he managed to remain standing even with so many cats pressing in around him and clawing through his thick coat to find traction, to find flesh to cut. He doesn't have a lot of options, it takes all three of his limbs to keep him upright and he can't lift his front forepaw to swing without toppling offbalance. He can not bite for the rogues were careful enough to keep away from his face knowing that he had no choice but to just take it.

Or did he. It was impulsive and risky, but it might get him free from the pile of screeching cats trying to shove him down. Sunfreckle swung his entire body weight worth of force and slammed himself into the side of the nursery den, crushing a rogue between him and the hard surface with an almost audible crack - he didn't know if he broke the den or the bones in this wretched cats body but he swung back the other way to roll to his side with force and crush the rogue on the other half of him down into the ground. For a split second his belly is exposed in the process of twisting back upright once his attackers were dislodged and he feels claws hot, curved, tear at the softer part of his body before he can right himself.

It's agony, it's painful, the adrenaline is the only thing that pushes him back onto his feet to close a large mouth around the offending arm that struck him and he twists to sling them aside - yanking their arm back at an angle cat limbs were not meant to bend in in the process. Sunfreckle stumbles, heaving, the ground under him slick and red and he fights to remain upright. Have to go. Have to move.

sandthorn awakes to so many scents and voices it makes her dizzy. by the time she has staggered to her paws, all of camp is enveloped in the calamity. still, she exits with bared teeth and unsheathed claws, sending nasty snarls to rogues that got too close. unfortunately, they did little to intimidate or ward off the unwelcome visitors.

sandthorn maneuvers around diving rogues to find someone who was in need of help. in one moment she gets distracted by her clanmates yelps, looking for the source, in another she is flat to the floor, pink nose colliding with the cold ground.

her chest moves rapidly despite the added weight on her back, she had never seen real battle before. withheld and then missed almost every opportunity after that. a slight panic overwhelms her, but the warrior is brought back by undistinguishable hissing in her ears and claws that rake along her back. with all of her strength, sandthorn flips her and her attacker onto their sides before quickly scrambling back to her paws. well fed, muscular and large, she stood little chance.

luckily, they were not going to be expected to fight here, surely they would lose regardless. at raccoonstripe's call, sandthorn turns with a new goal of making it through the gorse tunnel.

Oakfang danced about, kicking up derbies and such until Marigoldpaw lept into view, leaping onto the rogue's back without a second hesitation. He grinned, amber optics lighting up in pride for his apprentice.

With minor injury despite the swell of hunger pains that have become common, barely noticeable if he didn't think about it. The adrenaline coursing through his veins did wonders. He certainly would feel it afterward, but like his apprentice, this was a battle that could not be won.

His nose crinkled, amber optics narrowed. "Do sleep with one eye open." He grinned, tone much like the frost along his muzzle. With that, Oakfang raced after his apprentice.

Yowling streaked toward him like comets, faces poked through the threshold of his den, and Berryheart could do nothing to stop it. Like river-water, everything seeped uncontrollable through his paws no matter how desperately he was trying to stop it. Berryheart was tired, grieving, worried- his apprentice was dead, his mother was dying, and who knew what would come next? He did not. Undoubtedly did not know, and he hated his ignorance, and hated that he could not rectify it.

Stone-faced still despite unfamiliar broiling, the tortoiseshell tom glanced toward his patients. Speckled shoulders depressed with a sigh, and he stood in the threshold of it as his brother streaked past him to stand against Big Mama's side. Right- he had been distracted. His mind had wandered down a path of hopelessness instead of remaining steadfast in the present, and Berryheart blinked hard to urge himself of his fretting. He would not give up today- to Stripes he offered an empty look, and a nod of acceptance.

"Quickly," he ordered the ill again, eyes roving them to make sure they could all walk. He would catch up to be a rock once he was sure they were all out of the den- for now, he unsheathed his claws, daring not to turn his back to the tumult. If anyone preyed on the weak, they would meet his strike.

She was a heavy sleeper, fortunately. But the prodding of Whitelion drew her from her slumber, and her mind dizzy as she heard outcries and snarling, growls and screams. It sounded too much out there, the noises a bit overwhelming to the kitten, used to more quiet natures.

She took her father's words to heart. Just look forward, just be safe. What was going on? She could hear her heartbeat slamming in her ears. "I'm still sleepy, though," she whined, a paw rubbing her eyes. But she knew that she had no choice but to listen.

She'd press against Softkit, and struggle to keep her breaths even. "I love you too, daddy," she said, but she didn't know why it sounded like he wad saying goodbye. He wasnt going anywhere was he?

Barleysight didn't like fighting, but they couldn't stand around while they watched clanmates fight ruthless rogues that invaded their camp they now shared with Windclan.

It was strange having accepted to help the refuge clan, especially windclan. But it was not their decision, and they just hoped all of this would be over. The sickness was killing them all, and now rogues were her to finish them off, weren't they?

Barley threw themself into a rogue attacking a clanmate, hoping to distract him so that the other could flee or stay and help. Claws ripped through his flank, and golden eyes turned quickly to them. It worked, his attention was off of the other, and now onto them. He'd begin to circle, and she would follow suit, not allowing themself to be prey to a bird.

A massive black cat, covered in scars, with eyes a contrast of golden, versus the brown tabby half covered in white. Green eyes watched as he begin to spring towards her, carefully dodging his massive form and twisting her body to rip claws through his face and attempt to bite into his neck scruff. She didn't make the hit, instead teeth met his shoulder, and his paw would frantically slap at her side, ripping through her shoulder before slamming her down.

It burned, but they couldn't relent. theye could run, but how far could they run? they didn't feel safe turning their back on him. The wind escaped their lungs as they hit the ground. he tried to slam down on their side, rolling out of the way and lunging for his face again.

His teeth would catch their front paw, crunching down as a painful yowl escaped them. All they could do was slap at his face, watching as blood covered his eyes and he still wouldn't let go. "LET GO BEAST," they yowled, pain wrenching through their paw as their other scratched over his eyes and anything she could reach.

But Barleysight knew they had the advantage and that's why he wouldn't let go.

// Barley attempted to save a clanmates, but got into a pickle themself. He currently has a grip on their front leg, and won't let go.

Rogues have swarmed him because they thought he'd go down easily, but Rabbitnose is surprisingly strong despite his leggy figure. He has quickly shown these rogues what speed and power looks like, and they're beginning to second guess their actions. Rabbitnose barely feels the injuries that he's been given. They aren't important right now. He needs to defend his clan, his family. It angers him that he is unable to reach them at this moment. He takes this anger out on his attackers, claws mercilessly ripping into flesh and teeth biting down as hard as possible on any part that comes near.

But he knows he wasn't built for fights like this. He may be doing damage, but he's losing.

He needs to run, but he won't until his family is safe. And when he bounces back to break away from his attacker, he catches a glimpse of red fur being swarmed. He sees Sunfreckle, being dealt a blow that turns his blood to ice. Sparkwing, fighting as hard as he can against too many enemies. Something in him snaps.

Rabbitnose has never wanted to kill more than he has in this very moment. With renewed energy and a vicious snarl, he bolts across camp, through and over rogues in his way, and barrels into the rogue who had harmed his mate so terribly.

Shrill screeches of fury leave him as he tears into the other. He wants him dead. He won't be happy until he is bleeding out and choking on his own blood. Rabbitnose attacks like he NEEDS this. And he does. He wants to see this cat die a painful death. He is caught in a frenzy he's never felt before.

"SPARKWING!!" He shouts to his son. "HELP SUNFRECKLE!!"

Sparkwing hears Rabbitnose through the roaring blood in his ears and shoves off an attacker. He gasps in horror at seeing the wound inflicted on Sunfreckle, and he rips himself away from the claws digging into him to rush to his side.

"DAD! Hold on- We have to go-" He pleads, claws ripping at any rogue who tries to get near. "L-lean on me, we have to go!"

In his brief moment of distraction, Rabbitnose was caught offguard. Claws slash down his face, over his eye. With an angry growl he looks back to the rogue and deals the same blow in a flurry of claws, making them stagger back.

"Go now! We have to move!" He shouts to Sunfreckle and Sparkwing.

sleekpaw & 09 moons & genderfluid & he/she/they & thunderclan apprentice

Sleekpaw just begins to expect the worst when Stagstrike arrives - his blue eyes widening as the path is cleared. There is only a brief moment of hesitation, where soft furred feline isn't sure if she should help, or flee. In the end, they choose the latter, pale figure weaving around and about. Everywhere he looks, the battle rages on - some already running and hiding, others fighting until they look about to drop. Voices begin to call out at last - flee, run, there's too many.

Sleekpaw plans to do just that when another sight has them freezing. Barleysight is being attacked, just as he himself was. It's strange - knowing even now that they are no longer apprentices training alongside each other, but that she's become a warrior while Sleekpaw was ill. It doesn't matter - smaller figure is moving before they even think about it, claws outstretched. He might be a bit small for hs age, but he's always shown prowess in his trainings.

The moment the rogue is dislodged, sleekpaw is back on her paws - eyes wide as she shoves towards barleysight. "We need to run - there's too many," They can't even bother to hide their fear - really, defending their home or not, they do not want to die today, fighting a battle they know they will not win. Enough is enough really - he only waits long enough to make sure she's heard, and then he takes his own advice - running to join the others who have already left.

Reactions: barleysight.
Reaching out a paw as Sleekpaw darted past him, Tybalt gave the apprentice a hard shove towards the camp exit, and they disappeared into the crowd after Barleysight. Good. The faster they got out of here, the better. Sleekpaw was no match for these cats.

Sinking his teeth into the rogue he was battling's shoulder, the bigger tom let out a shriek of pain as they tumbled through the grass. Managing to slip out from underneath the other cat, he reared up on his hind legs and raked his claws across the rogue's face. A force slammed hard into his side, causing him to wobble on unsteady paws and stumble slightly as he whirled around to slash at the other rogue. He was outnumbered. They all were. Still, he refused to flee.

When the rogues descend upon the sandy hollow, Thriftpaw is caught in that precarious place between being asleep and awake. He's slow to rise, fur plastered in awkward angles along his cheeks and eyes still bleary. Rogues — again? — swarm like red-faced termites to dead wood. Thriftpaw's rabbit-heart comes alive with such suddenness that he is momentarily world-shakingly dizzy — momentarily the high pitched ring of a bird's warning cry — momentarily —

Thriftpaw inhales sharply, and whatever panic was about to grip him gives way to clarity. The world snaps into focus. His heart doesn't slow. Green eyes dart in multiple directions, on the edge of being too rapid to be useful, but in his hurry Thriftpaw manages to take in the situation. Rogues invading, WindClan retreating — where is ThunderClan? Is it just WindClan that is the target?

Focus.

Thriftpaw's body had moved without his mind's input. It's fine, such things happen on occasion. Claws dig into his face — his own scrabble for purchase over scrawny shoulders. He needs to go. He's fallen into a wrestle. He needs to go. Thriftpaw breaks himself from the grapple and doesn't think about the long strands of golden fur caught in the rogues claws; he thinks of what he would do without — if he was ever separated from — WindClan. And he lets that fear carry him away.

( ⁀➷ ) She hears the screaming first. The calls of rogues,, the searching for family, the curses and the pain of wounding. It happens fast. Soon, Berryheart is herding the sick and wounded to the mouth of the den, and Fallow is walking on unsteady feet, face scrunching in a wince of pain at her back. It's much better now, though. She can be strong.

The camp outside is like something from a nightmare. Cats swarm like an army of ants, anger and cruel glee, blood painting ThunderClan's home a deep shade of red. Fallow can't tell rogue from Clan cat, all of them a blue of snapping teeth and flashing claws, of hisses and yowls and angry, angry voices. Its a violence she has only known from a kit-eating beast of talons and feathers, a force of nature. It feels wrong to see such cruelty from cats alone.

Fallow pulls herself close to the healer, huddling close to his legs but not letting them touch. She fluffs up her tiny form, fur standing on end. She can be brave. A growl rises in her throat, directed towards -- the rogues, the fighting, the camp as a whole. "Gh - get away!" it hisses at the rogues, eyes blown wide and fearful.

It's not so hard to sleep here, Finchkit thinks - not that much harder than it is to sleep at home, and she's usually really good at that! At least, sometimes she is; sometimes, she's just full of so much energy that she thinks she won't ever fall asleep, doomed to lie there all night, bored out of her mind and counting the passing seconds until she can't remember what comes next, but luckily for her, those nights are rare. Indeed, on this night she finds herself snuggled in amongst her family, as if blissfully unaware that she sleeps not beneath the stars outside of the den but beneath bending, twisting trees. Perhaps it would've been another fun day, another day full of mingling with these new ThunderClanners and exploring more of their camp, but it seems fate has other plans - instead of waking up to the sound of warriors bustling about in camp, of any of her denmates, new and old alike, rustling around, she instead wakes to yowls, anger-stricken and pained and everything in between.

Above all else, the girl is curious to a fault; even residing in begrudging-not-enemy territory can't dissuade her from the frenzied, disorganized cries outside, not when the truth awaits mere pawsteps away. Maybe it's a ThunderClan thing, she thinks, though the sounds are eerily familiar in a way she can't forget, the outraged shrieking cemented in her memory. Peeking her head out of the strange nursery, she's met with - well, it's still pretty dark out, and she'd only just awoken, so it's kind of hard to see, actually. Definitely there's something wrong, though, the sharp metallic tang of blood in the air, and once her eyes are better-adjusted, it's clear that this isn't just some sort of ThunderClan thing. No familiar forms save for a pawful of ThunderClanners in sight, and yet it's not hard to guess who the attackers are - rogues, come to take revenge. Or, maybe not revenge - they had won the fight against WindClan, after all, even if it was only temporary.

Remembering the way that Rivekit had been pulled away from the fray almost as quickly as she had been to jump into it, Finchkit doesn't launch out, either, even if this time she's sure the disquieting sight isn't enough to keep her rooted to the spot. Instead, she opts to repeat her strategy from last time, successful as it had been - yelling from afar. "GO AWAY! GET OUTTA HERE! FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO BOTHER!" When they had descended upon WindClan before, she hadn't had to yell so loudly, but this time, it's a strain to even hear herself over the din, the scuffle already in full force by the time she'd even crawled out of the nest. There's hardly any way to tell which way the tide of the battle has turned, though she hopes that the rest of WindClan will swoop in sometime soon to teach these nasty rogues a lesson once and for all. Maybe if they beat them here, they could all go home - right now especially, that's all Finchkit wants.

Howlingstar has grown weak, weaker than she has ever felt in her life. Her days are filled with tangy herbs and nest changes within her son's den. She falls in and out of consciousness as exhaustion weighs her down in both mind and body. She is tired. Too tired to notice at first when rogues overtake her home.

It's Raccoonstripe's familiar scent that alerts her. Rheumy green eyes flutter open with a star, her ears twitching at the sound of his voice. Rogues, he says. She can hardly manage the gasp that leaves her. "No," Is barely audible as she stumbles to her feet, leaning heavily against his broader frame. Her breath is labored as she stands and levels Berryheart and the other den's inhabitants with a stare, one that is scared - scared because she can't do anything.

Her eyes draw shut as her body threatens to collapse then and there. She must trust her sons to get her out of here. She must trust Flycatcher and the others to get her clan out.

She didn't know how long it has been. Weeks? Days? Minutes? Seconds? Her eyes flickered open, the world spinning still, her mouth feeling dry and stuck together-

She heard Berryhearts usher to move, and barely heard the screams and uproar outside of the den. But the apprentice didn't... want to move. Sweat drenched her pelt, and matted fur would feel heavy on her pelt.

It sounded like... cheers outside. It sounded like excitement. We're the journey cats back? Already? She had to get to Batwing and Flamewhisker .. but, her limbs could barely hold her. They shook as she struggled to stand, collapsing back to her nest.

Others were moving around her, and she struggled herself to keep her eyes open. Her mother hadn't come to see her since she fell ill. A couple did, but she vaguely remembered.

She would try again though, her form weakly and slowly carrying her despite the medic saying to hurry. Her bones hurt as she moved, and the feeling of nausea washed over her.

Leaving the entrance of the den with the others, she would realize- they weren't cheering. In fact, they were screaming. Thick blood would spill, the eyes of the others filled with fear.

Her ears flattened back, her form crouching as the world seemed to spin and she couldn't keep her foothold. She had to try... She had to get out of here with the rest of them...

♪ Like a moth to a flame ♪ ---- The young tom woke with a heart full of adrenaline, the sounds of commands, fighting, and screaming was traumatizing. Mothpaw didn't believe that he would see this day, hoping this was only just a bad dream… Roeflames hollering brought the tom to his feet in a heartbeat. With the reinsurance that a adult was there to guide him made him feel a little bit easy… that is until he followed his mentor outside the den along side the other apprentices. He froze in horror- picking up his maw from the ground, he rushed to lead the other apprentices out to safety along with Toadpaw. He felt bad, he knew he had the capabilities to fight, but it was better to listen to his mentor during this time.

Mothpaw began leading the group to the route his mentor pointed him to, before something or someone struck him along his side like flaming ball of rage. A rouge- one to be among his size group, but with a more intimating appearance. The dark, red from the rouge's coat glistening with the glaring moon, making him appear larger. "Ah sh-," Mothpaw cursed under his breath, "Go now! I'll catch up!" He commanded the group. The rouge gloomed over him, but the tom, filled with a burning fire inside his heart, charged. Unexpectedly, Mothpaw slid underneath the stranger and stunned him by grabbing his rear thigh, forcing him to land on his face. There, he didn't even look back before to catching up to his group.
