  APPEARANCE: Betonyfrost is a well-built blue mackerel tabby with short fur. Her body can be described as loosely rectangular with a back that slopes gently. Her legs are medium length and stocky. Betonyfrost's tail is of an average length and has thick bands down it.
  
  The first thing one may notice when looking at Betonyfrost is her round face. There is a small scar that is cut across her nose bridge. Her ears small and unevenly shaped due to frostbite damage. Her eyes are ovular and a dull green color-- often marred by a tired sheen. The skin on the insides of her ears and on her nose is a warm peach. The markings on her face are semi-asymmetrical and that of a typical tabby: lighter fur along her eyes and muzzle, darker stripes along her cheeks and on her forehead.

  Spoiler: Former

  A severe lack of confidence is a defining trait of Betonyfrost. While it is likely not going to be the first thing one notes about her, the effects of it can be felt throughout the whole of her personality. It isn't often that she speaks, and even less often that she does so at length. Everyone else is more capable than her-- they can and will say it far better than she ever could, so why should she even try? Following the same vein, Betonyfrost conceals her emotions with a startling amount of accuracy in an attempt to keep herself from the public eye.
  
  The other pillar of Betonyfrost's personality is her anger. Her habit of hiding her emotions means that it is rare to show, but her anger comes on quickly and lingers, to the point that is a near constant for her. When it does show, it manifests as sarcasm and immaturity. Betonyfrost is capable of deep and lasting hatred, often without the other party knowing how Betonyfrost truly feels.

  Born to a group of cats living in the marsh, Betony's early life could be most accurately described as average. As a kit, Betony had always been prone to introversion, but not to the extent of disconnection. She preferred to play with herself or with her littermate, Spring, or pass the time by observing her groupmates bustle about.
  
  A marked change could be noticed in Betony after the departure of her parents. Betony— already shy, had withdrawn almost completely. She didn't engage with her peers, other than her close friend Rooster, unless spoken to directly, and she clung even more closely to her brother.​

  
  SUMMER: 9-11 MOONS:
  

  Late into her adolescence and early in her adulthood, Betony struggles to fit in with her other peers in the marsh group. She feels inadequate in her often failed hunting attempts, and is shaken by the shifting politics that mark the birth of the clans. During this time, she is named Betonyfrost.
  
  Tragedy strikes the newly formed ShadowClan when a tree on their territory catches fire, forcing them to retreat from camp and live beneath the Thunderpath, but Betonyfrost is curious and unconcerned about the fire. She feels some guilt over not caring more about her clanmates' safety, but this is quickly forgotten in favor of a rapidly growing infatuation with Chilledgaze. Briarstar is struck and killed by a monster on the Thunderpath while saving kits, an event that leaves Betonyfrost unaffected. ShadowClan returns to camp when the fire has died.​

  
  AUTUMN: 12-14 MOONS
  

  Betonyfrost's world is shaken when Springflame, who had been previously missing, returns bearing new scars. Betonyfrost experiences a terrible pain when she is stung by a young channel catfish while hunting, but finds a comfort in Chilledgaze's worry for her. Seeing Chilledgaze pin a clanmate after he scratches them only increases Betonyfrost's infatuation, and seeing them faint due to overworking only makes Betonyfrost more worried for their health.
  
  Overwhelmed by her feelings, Betonyfrost attempts to seek advice on what she should do.
  
  Due to Pitchstar's recent alliance WindClan, their neighbors from the moor visit with prey of their own and the two clans enjoy a feast. Betonyfrost feels as though these strangers are intruding upon her home, and after moons of letting her anger fester, she snaps at one of the WindClan warriors. Betonyfrost is given an apprentice, Brookpaw, but takes a quick disliking to him when she learns about his poor eyesight. She once again snaps at someone as a result of her anger.​

  
  WINTER: 15-17 MOONS
  

  At last, when Betonyfrost's feelings become too much for her to handle, she attempts to make a confession to Chilledgaze, but is rejected. Being quick to anger has rapidly become her norm, but this escalates when Betonyfrost attacks the apprentice Lilacpaw after Betonyfrost fails to catch a rabbit. Her fellow warrior Halfshade retaliates, scratching Betonyfrost across her face and giving her a scar.
  
  As punishment for attacking Lilacpaw, Betonyfrost is forced to sleep outside of the warrior's den and has last pick of a meal. Halfshade threatens Betonyfrost should she go after Lilacpaw again, and Betonyfrost decides to confront Halfshade about this later. She scratches Halfshade and then Halfshade, wanting to get Betonyfrost in further trouble, injures herself to frame better frame Betonyfrost as a danger.
  
  While sleeping outside, a blizzard hits and Betonyfrost suffers from frostbite. While her paws and nose are both mildly affected, her ears are damaged to the point that the skin has died. She retreats into the warrior's den, where her and her clanmates have been snowed in. The frostbite and hunger start to take a heavy toll on Betonyfrost, who begins bargaining to StarClan for her life. Having survived, Betonyfrost takes this to mean that StarClan has heard her prayers and was merciful.
  
  Once the snow has thawed enough for ShadowClan to venture out into the territory once more, Betonyfrost catches a bird but, driven by hunger, eats it and growls at anyone who comes too close. After failed attempts to hunt at the Carrionplace, Pitchstar decides to send patrols over to ThunderClan's territory. Before this happens, Betonyfrost and Roosterstrut reconnect to discuss what this could mean for ShadowClan.
  
  Betonyfrost is selected to go onto the first hunting patrol in ThunderClan, which quickly fails when they are spotted by ThunderClan. Upon their return the minorly injured Betonyfrost speculates as to why they were spotted so quickly, but is corrected by Smogmaw who tells the clan that the recently deceased Flickerfire was mates with ThunderClan's leader.

He has white paws, a white tail tip, and asymmetrical white spotting on his face. Notably, the tips of his ears are also white. His left ear has a small slit in it, done by a gorse thorn when he was a kit.​

  Thriftpaw's voice sits slightly on the higher end, a fact that is often exaggerated by his nervous disposition. He has the habit of repeating words, rewording sentences halfway through, and dropping sentences without completing them. Thriftpaw tends to speak quietly.​
