This is my personal naming guide, you can use it if you want but I just needed to put it somewhere outside my docs lol

Naming List Guide For My Reference:
- NO DUPES. Do not use an existing prefix. Never directly name after another cat unless they are dead.
- If referencing another cat they must be Immediate family or extremely close/requires onscreen development.
---- Parents, siblings are fine. Cats of significance to their lives like milestones are fine.
---- Keep referential names to a minimum (only a few)
- Make sure the prefix would not be more meaningful in another litter.
---- Always check that when honoring another cat that the name won't be more symbolic if someone else uses it.

Naming List Sections:
In Honor Of - (After other cats)
A Memory - (After a moment in their lives with significance)
Location - (After the territory, time of their birth, time of day, weather etc...)
Wishful Thinking - (Names based on what you hope for the kit, such as Bravekit, Happykit etc...)
Comfort - (Names that your cat just likes, stuff they enjoy, their favorite things etc...)

Absolutely Not - (Names with bad meanings or associations that your cat would never use. Generally people put things like 'dark/mean/cruel names' here.) Ex: Maggot, Bone, Blood, stuff associated with death, negativity etc...


Quick Guide on Assocation Names (wanting to name after a cat without taking the prefix):
- If you use part of the name itself make sure its not the fully one.
(Ex: Instead of Bluebell you would use Blue)
- The suffix can sometimes make a good assocation name.
(Ex: Naming a kit after your brother Aspenbreeze by calling it Breezekit.)
- Symbolic names also work really well.
(Ex: Instead of naming a cat after Blackclaw by calling them Blackkit you can use 'Shadekit, Shadowkit, Nightkit' etc...)

These are rules for any adoption thread I make whether it is a litter, plot, family or rehome etc..
Just putting them here so I can copy/paste in the future!

I trust your judgment to decide if you can add another character to your roster, it is not my job to make that call. That being said, I will reference your existing posts/characters to see if you manage those while keeping in mind an additional one will spread out your activity more.

I check your reliability based on the following:

• Have you had to have an adopt slot taken from you due to little to no activity?
• Do you drop characters consistently/drop plots consistently?
• Do you not communicate with others you plot and RP with when you need to drop characters or activity?
• Can you seem to juggle more than one character at a time at all?

I also pick based on if you're friendly and easy to talk to, if you present consistently negative, hostile or rude you will be overlooked.

I will not choose people who do things or make characters that can be considered in poor taste or uncomfortable.
Darker plots are fine to a degree if played well, but if you have a history of not playing them well I will not be comfortable enough selecting you.

  Before the clans there was the Marsh Colony and Skunktail was named simply 'Skunk'.
  Around the great battle he was notorious for his flirtatious attitude, tossing compliments like no tomorrow and most cats dismissed him with a laugh and little interest until he met her and she met his suave demeanor with a more assertive and confident one. To say he was smitten was an understatement but his fear of committing to a life of settling down and raising a family had him keep her at arms length. When the clans began to form she decided such a life was not for her and prepared to leave for twoleg place, bidding he join her, but Skunk's loyalty has always remained with his family and his family alone.
  They part terms amicably, wishing the other well on their new paths in life.
  
  He often thought of Piney in his idle time, wondering how she was doing, if she was well, curious if he'd ever see his friend again. The answer comes in resounding no, a small group of cats arrive at the border asking for him...
  
  They know his name, they know her name, she's dead and they - they are his kits.
  
  His family had not had the best luck as of late, a lot of trials and tribulations, the loss of several members, the pain of betrayal. He sees these kits and he thinks not that they are here to cause them more grief, but that they can help rebuild the shakey foundation of what their family stands upon and he pleads they be permitted to join to Chilledstar who allows it under the condition they are taught their ways and watched carefully for their first few moons.

  These cats will be part of the Briarstar family tree, one of the oldest existing families on the site and related to several extremely notable characters!

  ☆ She tells them to go to ShadowClan as she's learned that loner life is sad and lonely and not a path she wishes for them. She wants them to have a community to rely on. She wants them to have stability. (The timing could not be more hilarious, I know.)
  ☆ Skunktail has never had kits, but he will accept them wholeheartedly. He's awkward and unsure, but will do his best to get to know them and introduce them to the rest of his family.
  ☆ These cats will be expected to adapt to clan life quickly and be loyal ShadowClanners.

  Juniperfrost was a former loyalist to Sootstar, a previous member of the Marsh Colony and dutiful WindClanner who could be described as being too strict and unforgiving at times and ruthless in his defense of his clan.
  Spiderbloom was a former rogue who joined after Sootstar killed their leader and promised them a better life, a coy and impish molly who took to teasing the stoic tom constantly much to his chagrin.
  
  Juniperfrost and Spiderbloom were not a traditional couple by any means, they had kits born of a duty to help grow their clan and nothing more than that. They had a begrudging respect for one another, which was enough to make the decision as far as they were concerned. Unfortunately he was killed by Hyacinthbreath, WindClan's former lead warrior and traitor, before he even knew the kits were coming leaving Spiderbloom to raise them alone in a way she thought would honor him best.
  
  These cats are now 9 moons and were raised with the mindset to be dutiful to WindClan and obey its leader, but who is to say how they feel now...

My personal criteria for cats to keep me motivated to post with them.
Aesthetics + Tags + Icon/Signature - must be finished before posting.

• Plotting channel is not to be touched until on the census.
• Requirement after census is 30 posts, begin developing clan relationships.
• Cats can not be killed off/have litters until at 50 posts.
  • Minor development arc allowed.
• 100 post milestone - New art treat. (Icon/Pagedoll, etc...)
• 150 post milestone - Major development arc.
  • This includes things that would heavily alter their views/personality going forward.

  xxxxxxxxOh, when the sun loves the moon - Never touching but never far.
  
  ☾ ﾟ｡ ⋆ Born to Blazestar and Little Wolf when the clans formed, Moonkit was the twin of Morningkit and sibling to Fireflykit, Howlkit and Burnkit. They frequently went between clans to visit each parent when Blazestar stepped up as SkyClan leader but when they became apprentices this division of loyalty was put into question during a border skirmish that resulted in Morningpaw's death. Lost with the death of her twin, Moonpaw was a meek and quiet apprentice and chose to remain with her mother and brother in ThunderClan after Emberstar established the first code to prevent another tragedy such as this from occuring by insisting cats remain loyalty to one clan and one clan only. Under the training of her uncle Raccoonstripe, Moonpaw developed a deepseated dislike for her kittypet heritage and her father chosing to lead his clan over joining ThunderClan to keep their family together and her quiet nature gave way to a silent fury. Lightpaw, the very cat her sister died to save, was one of her close friends at the time and the two would talk about their strict and pushy mentors together at length. When they became warriors, Lightstrike would volunteer to go on the journey to save the clans from yellowcough shortly after and leave her with the realization she missed his company more than she'd admit outloud. Moonwhisper threatened him to come back to her alive before they parted ways.
  
  ⋆｡ ﾟ☼ Lightkit, formerly known as just Light during the creation of the Clans, was the single kit born to his litter, youngest of three other siblings. Troubled at a young age as a result of wobbly familial experiences and being thrust into the paws of the strict Nightbird, Lightpaw's frustrations would often mount explosively. His first experience in true battle would be the SkyClan border skirmish that would lead to the formation of the warrior code. It was the opposing Snowpaw who had swung at him with a drastic blow of unclear intentions. Regardless of whether it had meant to kill or not, kill it did. Lightpaw had remained unscathed, as it was Morningpaw who took the blow in his stead. This battle would leave him struggling with feelings of guilt, regret, and anger for much of his life. It would result in his early friendship with Moonpaw, a misguided effort to make amends for his failure, one that both he and she was unaware of. While it resulted in a true friendship, there would be no denying that the basis was his feelings about Morningpaw's death. As they grew older and became warriors, Lightstrike was quick to step up and go on the journey to seek the herb needed to save the forest...
  
  ⋆｡°✩⋆｡°✩⋆｡° Upon his return the two grew close once again, hunting and patroling together in a casual and close friendship as Moonwhisper grappled with feelings of jealousy and confusion. While sunbathing at Sunningrocks together they confessed in a very chaotic and awkward manner after having idle chitchat on a discussion relating to kits and one thing lead to another...

RiverClan Raffle Information
Every month shoutouts are done to call attention to active members of the clan! As a bonus thank you and reward as well as a way to offer my art to people who aren't able to commission me for any reasion (not that I ever have commissions open anymore lol) I am going to use the discord dice roller to pick a single cat on the shoutouts each month to draw a mini for! These rolls will be public and posted in the #art channel in the discord for posterity sake!

EXAMPLES OF A MINI:

They are 100x100 tiny drawings of a character of choice! (Your first mini must be your RiverClanner, if you win later raffles you may select any cat you play!) Designs may be simplied and colors adjusted to fit the smaller canvas and avoid color compression!

HPs will have their own raffle pool to seperate them from the normal members as they are expected to recieve a shoutout every month but should also get the chance to be rewarded! (Their raffle rolls will be done in our HP chat to avoid clutter.)

Please note that activity shoutouts fluctuate depending on general clan activity (may be lower or higher based on how the board looks.)
This does not mean you are to spam the board with what we refer to as 'filler' posts, meaning if you make a post it must not skim previous posts, must acknowledge other cats in the thread and the thread topic and must provide substance to allow additional replies. Quality over quantity is still heavily encouraged!

You may not win a raffle two consecutive months in a row to allow others the chance to have their cat drawn. If you are rolled you will be asked who you would like to recieve the prize in your place!
