JULY 2022 ; Cicada, first to decipher the prophecy as what it was, now enters his newly claimed territory alongside those who wish to join him. Unexpectedly, they are met by pushback from a group of loners that had been residing there. Notably, Buck and Caraway, who wish to drive them away.
Not long after, A small tom by the name of Beesong arrives At this time, the name is strange, and in fact newly given. Formerly a member of the Pine group and then Skyclan, he was swiftly summoned by the stars, drawn to the moonstone alongside Cicada to learn of his fate. They are named the medicine cat of Riverclan, and trusting the stars, he follows.
Alongside him, Cicada too, has been dubbed Cicadastar of RiverClan. Any moment to dwell on his new title is cut short however, as a WindClan cat named Weasel attacks him on the basis of trespassing through WindClan's lands.
In a paranoid frenzy Cicadstar would immediately assume his place as RiverClan’s leader and announce an end to the welcoming of strangers, saying that any loners on his territory would have to join RiverClan to stay. As a sign of togetherness,. Cicadastar bestows similar titles to RiverClan’s warriors following the example of Beesong's star-given name, including the loner Caraway who is then named Willowroot.
AUGUST 2022 ; Directly following her own ceremony, ShadowClan’s medicine cat, Bonejaw, would suddenly appear on RiverClan’s land to see Cicadastar, her good friend from the marsh. She is then welcomed to stay for a few days.
Another cross-clan visitor, Sootstar, appears with a moorland hare to apologize for the actions of her warrior, Weasel. During the exchange, a number of RiverClan’s apprentices speak out of turn, earning the ire of both Sootstar and their own leader.
Later, Bonejaw returns again, this time seeking help. A ShadowClan kit, Spark-kit, is held in her jaw. Though the kit had always been sickly, one day, it seemed to have gotten much worse. Rather than request urgent help from one of ShadowClan's neighbors, Bonejaw instead seeks help from her friends across the river. By the time she arrives in RiverClan, Spark-kit is already gone.
Later, driven to investigate by loud cracks in the sky, A RiverClan patrol ventures out and stumbles upon a temporary den of twolegs. They scatter when they hear the crack again, now discovering it's twoleg origins. Wanting to know if temporary dens were set up elsewhere, another RiverClan patrol begins to survey the area. The cats find that the twolegs have spread themselves far, leaving traces of themselves elsewhere around the territory, whether it be scattered equipment or singed marks hidden amongst nature. The patrol pauses when stumbling upon a strange twoleg attraction. Left distracted and unaware, to the patrols horror, Cicadastar is suddenly pierced through with an arrow at the throat, taking away his first life.
SEPTEMBER 2022 ; Following this, RiverClan would later return to the Twoleg camps, only to find them empty save from a few lingering traces. With RiverClan still not having a deputy Smokethroat and Willowroot step up to the task of assigning patrols. The looming threat of the two-legs keeps every cat on edge despite the miraculous return of their leader.
Within his dreams, Beesong sees a great buck, ethereal with curling antlers, and bringing life wherever they walked. He knows not how to consider the vision, but knows to share it with Cicadastar, nonetheless.
OCTOBER 2022 ; On a final patrol to raid the two-leg camp of its prey, things go sideways when the two-legs dog erupts onto the scene and scatters the patrols. During the escape, Cicadastar is ensnared in a trap and demands Buckgait leave him save herself, she declines and frees him instead despite the animosity between them. The two return to camp after several hours of RiverClan panicking over their absence.
Now realizing that the dream Beesong had might mean more than they expected and due to her rescue of him, Cicadastar names Buckgait his deputy.
NOVEMBER 2022 ;
DECEMBER 2022 ; Beesong has a prophetic dream, leading them to believe that Gloompaw should be their apprentice.
As prey grows scarce a skirmish breaks out with WindClan over a rabbit. Smokethroat loses an eye and nearly dies in the ensuing battle.
Former ShadowClan Medicine Cat Bonejaw comes seeking sanctuary while heavily pregnant, claiming she left due to the violence of her clan and their anger at her for trying to find her missing son and mate. According to her, ShadowClan did not bother to search for her missing family, and that ShadowClan deemed her a traitor for her desire to find them. Later, she is renamed to Boneripple
Hyacinthbreath, former lead warrior of WindClan comes to the border seeking to join. Having a leg up due to an amicable relationship with Smoke throat, she is allowed to join after careful consideration under restrictions.
Cicadastar warns the clan of the river beginning to rise and urges caution in said meeting, in addition he assigns Lightningstone to guard the newly joined Hyacinthbreath as he once did Buckgait.
JANUARY 2023 ; Cicadastar takes a patrol to investigate why the water is rising and find it has frozen and blocked up further at the bend.
Greenpaw, a SkyClan apprentice, arrives seeking help for his clan as WindClan has invaded them for their herbs. RiverClan rushes to offer their aid and another patrol is sent back to camp to arrange for more back-up. The second patrol hurries to the SkyClan border to face the other attacking WindClan patrol. Following this, Cicadastar and Blazestar discuss an alliance.
The river floods seemingly over night, filling the camp and at first is only a minor hindrance before it begins to rise more. Buckgait leads a scouting patrol to find them a new temporary camp until the waters receed and they choose the Beech Copse.
The following day the apprentice den collapses and RiverClan is sent scrambling from the frigid waters. Together, the clan begins to prepare to travel to the temporary camp.
FEBRUARY 2023 ; While crossing the frozen river to reach the temporary camp, the ice breaks and Cicadastar is plunged into the freezing waters, causing him to lose a life as he's submerged. Thankfully, he is saved from further suffering by Houndstride. Soon after, RiverClan arrive at their temporary camp and begin to prepare the makeshift dens they will reside in for the time being.
Strangely, two WindClan refugees arrive at the border requesting help. The WindClanners are turned away and instead taken to twolegplace.
Later, a patrol crosses paths with a ThunderClan patrol consisting of their deputy, Howling Wind who explains there have been dogs on Sunningrocks. She inquires if RiverClan intends to deal with it, as it is their territory despite its status on ThunderClan's side of the river. RiverClan– most notably Smokethroat and Cindershade– insist the dogs are ThunderClan's problem. Reporting the incident to camp Cicadastar takes his deputy and lead warriors to ThunderClan to apologize for the callousness on their part, but in the end, agrees that the dogsare a ThunderClan problem.
Later, at clan meeting Cicadastar updates the clan that Sunningrocks is too dangerous to keep scented as they once did due to the floodwaters, but to guard it all the same.
↑ Cindershade and Snakeblink are promoted to lead warriors.
While on patrol, Hyacinthbreath crosses paths with the WindClanner Juniperfrost, and chooses to make him pay for his threats and mockery by dragging him across the bridge to kill before the rest of his patrol can stop her, brutally attacking him even once he is dead. Cindershade, only there in time to see Juniperfrost across the border,tells the rest of the clan that it was WindClan that had attacked first.
MARCH 2023 ; The Beech Copse that RiverClan had moved near turns out to be home to several otters who attack the newly moved in RiverClan in a territorial aggression. The clan frantically fights them off.
In response for Juniperfrost's death, WindClan– who have noticed RiverClan scent more heavily by their border– attack the temporary camp in the dead of night in not one, but two violent waves.
🕱 Clearsight dies of his injuries sustained in the WindClan raid.
In the aftermath of the fight, with warriors still wounded and recovering, ThunderClan comes to stake a claim on Sunningrocks, claiming it as rightfully theirs since running out the dogs residing on it. Seeking to make use of their alliance, a RiverClan apprentice is sent to request SkyClan's aid in the battle, to the ire of both RiverClan and Blazestar's clan, SkyClan's leader refuses, unwilling to wage war against his half-clan kits in the name of such a despute, and subsequently calling his alliance with RiverClan into question. In the end, RiverClan suffers another loss in the battle for Sunningrocks and retreats.
After the loss, Buckgait causes Cicadastar to question her loyalties after she seems to undermine his authority by offering sympathy to ThunderClan's plight prior to the attack. When questioned, she rounds back to the original source of her ire for Cicadastar, declaring RiverClan her rightful home as her family was here first, and that she has already made amends by saving his life and owed him no further. The leader is quick to snap at her, and the conversation ends there.
APRIL 2023 ; A patrol is sent to the original camp to see the state of the flooding, and finds it to no longer be beneath the river. The patrol returns to excitedly inform Cicadastar of the news and he sends another to prepare the camp for their return.
Cicadastar holds a meeting with his council for suggestions on how to deal with WindClan and retaliate against what they'd done. Ideas are thrown out, but the most significant is Snakeblink's suggestion to get ahold of one of Sootstar's newly apprenticed children. A suggestion that is dismissed for the time being, seen as nigh impossible.
MAY 2023 ; Several two-leg traps are found near the temporary camp, making the area even more dangerous. After a group is sent to clean them, one is found to still be there and Catfishpaw is nearly killed but saved at the last moment by Smokethroat.
X A RiverClan apprentice, Ashpaw is taken by two-legs after being caught in a trap and is presumed dead.
Recalling Snakeblink's suggestion, Smokethroat makes a risky move when he spots Sootstar's daughter Cottonpaw too close to the bridge. The warrior pins her in place, forcing WindClan to wait for RiverClan to assemble a force to face them. The ensuing battle ends with the RiverClan cats sending the WindClanners retreating back home; severely outmatched.
Cicadastar announces that the clan will finally be returning back to their original camp. After a long and tiresome trek RiverClan is home once again.
JUNE 2023 ; A routine patrol for moss is surprised by the river receding once again, as well as a loner suddenly leaping out of the brush to shove Smokethroat before dashing off. They report the odd occurrence to Cicadastar who worries for the river and who these cats are.
Following this, Smokethroat sets up patrols to investigate where the stranger had run off to, one of which being lead by Cicadastar. The leader and his warriors arrive to find a colony of cats who call themselves the Ripple Colony, they had settled in the area during RiverClan's stay at the temporary camp at the Beech Copse. After a discussion, Cicadastar arranges another meeting for them all to have a proper chat before returning to camp where he calls for a discussion..
With traitors in his midst, rattled with paranoia, Cicadastar confronts Beesong out on a walk by the gorge. The intensity of his questioning causes the medicine cat to fall, and meet his untimely death at the bottom of the gorge.

x Hyacinthbreath is exiled after showing mercy to WindClan in battle; proving that her heart still lies in the moors.
🕱 Beesong's body is later found in the river by a patrol consisting of Smokethroat, Cindershade and Ravenpaw and brought home.
↑ Cicadastar holds a meeting, declaring that Smokethroat would fill the long empty deputy position. Alongside him, Petalnose and Lichentail are made Lead Warriors.
Unexpectedly, Ashpaw returns with a kit in tow. While being questioned of the child's origins both Lichentail and Boneripple speak out of turn and chastise Cicadastar for his and Iciclefang's supposed cold indifference. After scolding them and receiving an answer from Ashpaw the leader happily welcomes her home.
JULY 2023 ; A meeting is called to discuss the Ripple Colony and the possible future of allying with them to solve the river situation. Cicadastar chooses a select few cats to go with him for their second meeting. In addition to the gathering announcements, Cicadastar also publicly sets a punishment for both Lichentail and Boneripple for their insubordination, informing them until they are trusted once more they are not to leave camp alone.
AUGUST 2023 ;
♥ Smokethroat and Cicadastar welcome three kits into the world
As the sun rises upon an ordinary day, Boneripple is reported missing, having fled into the night with her children left behind.
